What is infrared?


Infrared, more precisely infrared rays, are electromagnetic rays. Rays with a wavelength between 380 nm and 780 nm are visible light; longer wavelengths form infrared radiation. The sun's energy consists for the most part of the healthy, vital infrared radiation. When it hits the skin, it penetrates up to 4 mm and creates a so-called deep heat.

In an Infrared Sauna, a healthy sweating effect can be proven even at temperatures of 35°C - 45°C, without putting more strain on the circulation. The infrared radiation of the ATROPA Infrared Sauna spreads throughout our entire body and unfolds its healing effect there.

How does infrared radiation affect our body?


In contrast to a conventional sauna, infrared rays only heat the air by about 20%; 80% is absorbed by the body. This revitalizes the cells, stimulates blood circulation and the metabolism. This artificial fever promotes detoxification, a self-healing process is initiated.

The infrared radiation warms the bloodstream and it is distributed throughout the body. This increases the core body temperature. This creates a slight artificial fever effect and helps the immune system.
