The cost of an Infrared Sauna is essentially composed of material costs, labor time, and machine costs. Infrared Saunas are a very labor-intensive product. An Infrared Sauna contains on average more than 50 working hours. The wood must be prepared, heaters and technology installed and finished. Although much is already automated today (e.g., CNC milling), many work steps can only be done by hand. However, the cost of an Infrared Sauna is also highly dependent on the materials used. Particular attention should be paid to the infrared heaters and the solid wood used. 

Cheaper models almost always come from the Far East, and the adhesives and varnishes used in these cheap cabins are particularly concerning. Furthermore, the visual appearance and workmanship do not always correspond to the brochure illustrations.

In terms of price, however, everything is open at the top end; especially custom-made models and exclusive materials and decorations can be quite costly.

Thanks to the low wattage and short pre-heating time, the running costs of Infrared Saunas are very low. For comparison, a traditional sauna needs a good hour before it is at operating temperature. With two to three sauna sessions, the Finnish sauna is often in operation for 3-4 hours in one evening. With an oven output of 4000 - 12000 (!) watts, it quickly becomes clear that the electricity costs are correspondingly high.

The infrared heaters, on the other hand, only need 3 to 5 minutes to heat up to full temperature. Depending on the size and wattage, the cost of the Infrared Sauna can vary.
